Over the next few months there will be lots going on at the Hall that villagers can support and some important meetings about developments affecting the Village. So make sure you come along and have your say!
First of these is a public meeting on Saturday 5 March about the proposed development plans for Bedford Road Fields. Open times to be confirmed, but provisionally booked for 10.00am-4.00pm.
The Spring Jumble sale is on Saturday 12 March at 2.00pm. Entrance is 20p and all money raised goes to the upkeep of the Village Hall. If you have any jumble to contribute please bring it to the hall during w/c 07 March or from 10.00am-11.30am on the Saturday morning.
The Chameleons Spring production is Willy Russell’s cheeky comedy One for the Road – a wickedly observant portrayal of a northern housing estate with ideas a little above its station. The play runs from Thursday 21 April –Saturday 23 April. Go to www.chameleonsdrama.co.uk for contact details.
Our Open Garden Days will run in the village this summer on Sunday 15 May and Sunday 3 July. These are our most important fund raising events with all proceeds going towards the Hall’s maintenance. We have plans for some interior re-decoration around the Hall and refurbishment of the kitchen over the next year so we want these to be the best Open Gardens yet!
Our OG visitors like nothing better than some new gardens to admire so if you are interested in opening your garden or would like to join our excellent team of OG helpers, then please contact Anne Papworth on 01908 583307.
On Saturday 4 June, we are planning a Film Night featuring a documentary of village memories from some of our oldest residents. There will be matinee and evening performances so all ages can come along to enjoy this unique insight into Aspley Guise. More details to follow.
From Friday 24 June to Sunday 26 June, Encore Children’s Theatre will be running their annual summer show. If you are interested in finding out more or joining the group, then email firstname.lastname@example.org
Aspley Guise is close by Junction 13 of the M1 - see the map below:
